Maximizing Your Bankroll
In poker, it doesn’t matter whether you have a small bankroll or have a big one as a start. The important thing is that you know how to maximize what you have as a bankroll. After all, bankroll of all sizes will always have a place in poker.
Basically, you just have to know how to maximize your bankroll. If you have a $200 bankroll or less, then know on what limit will you fit in and do best. Same thing if you have $500-900 or even as big as $1000 or more. The size of your bankroll will not determine your fate in poker, whether you will succeed or not. It’s you and your potential to make most out of what you have that will indeed determine your fate.
$200 or Less
Basically, if you have just right bankroll, say $200 or less, never feel negative. Remember that players who now have huge, healthy bankroll don’t have that much bankroll when they started years ago. They have just maximized what they have.
Well, in case you have $200 or less as bankroll, play at stakes around $.5-1.00 limit or at $5 Sit and Go Tournaments (SNG’s). Doing so, may be helpful for your bankroll. Just be careful with some $5 SNG’s that do have an absurd $1 entry fee, which equals to a 20% rake.
$500-900
Having $500-900 bankroll is already a good thing. Just maximize what you have by playing at some $.5-1.00 games to get a feel for competition. In the event you get to beat such games then go and play next $1-2 games. Also, you can try $10 SNG’s. Playing at these games is one of you best options if you wish to get some experience without risking much of your bankroll.
$1000 or More
To have $1000 or more as your bankroll is something you must be thankful for. You can play at whatever limits you wish to play. However, at best, you should play first at $.5-1.00 games or $10 SNG’s and just later on jump up to the $20 SNG’s if you get much experience.
