Anglers are the cheaters who use the cheating technique Angling. Well, Angling is basically a technique used in cheating which involves acting out of turn. Typically, there could be betting, folding or checking early involved with it.

As of the moment, anglers are in almost every poker game so the threat or the risk of getting risk is very high. If you are an honest player who all the time plays according to the rules, this is something alarming for you. You can’t hide away from this reality. You can’t even ignore this as you’ll going to face this at some point.

Well, you will actually find it hard to know if you are already being victimized by anglers or just by new players who most likely act out of turn innocently, who in real sense have no intention to cheat. And if by chance you realize you are being victimized by anglers, you will also find it hard to prove it and find justice for it as Angling is not directly against the rules of most poker rooms. Thus, the best thing you can is to just try to split up possible anglers at the poker table.

Split Them Up!

Yes, prevention is always better than cure. And this goes the same in poker. It would be already hard for you to eliminate anglers in your way when the game finally starts so it would be best if you try to split them up prior to the game or when the game has not yet started.

To split cheaters, just take a simple complaint about their play then floor manager will most likely mix up the tables. So you can effectively accomplish the splitting of cheaters, quietly stand up from being seated and see the floor manager.

Some cheaters plan to win a certain poker game by preparing a deck. We say plan because no matter what, they will make sure they’re gonna win the game by manipulating the cards.

Preparing a deck is a cheating technique that only works once. For cheaters to successfully apply such technique, they need to secure some time prior to the game so they can be able to place certain cards in certain places in order to make certain players have certain hands.

Accomplishing a Prepared Deck

Accomplishing a prepared deck is not that easy particularly when fate doesn’t leave cheaters any opportunity to take possession of the deck so they can carry out their scheme. But if given the opportunity, they will organize the deck a certain way that will make them win. They will place certain cards in certain places so other players will have predetermined hands. Typically, they want them to hit large hands at the beginning and get outdrawn at the very end. They want them to get excited so they get to place lots of money into the pot which later they would collect.

If cheaters are smarter, the deck will be organized in such a way they can falsely shuffle the deck and make the desired cards come up on the top. Some other methods are also used in combination with the prepared deck.

Watching Over the Deck

Most cheaters nowadays will do everything in order to make sure they win a certain game and this of course include preparing a deck. They may arrange the deck in favor of them so be careful. At all times, watch over the deck and the one who is holding it. And always be aware of what’s happening at the table.

In poker games, there are cheaters who do not cheat by just manipulating the cards but by taking chips right from the pot. Yes, they cheat by stealing. It’s an amazing reality that cheaters could even reach the point where they would steal like a thief in a dark night just to win in something called a game. But it’s the reality individuals who are into poker have to face.

Means to Steal

Typically, players who intend to cheat by stealing chips right from the pot carry out their scheme when they are in the position of a dealer allowing them to make any type of interaction with the pot. They will then use some sleight of hand techniques so they can quickly steal some chips.

At times, when lots of players tend to splash the pot, cheaters also take advantage of the situation. They would simply make a call, bet, or raise, and then place the chips directly into the pot, rather than setting them in front of themselves. Doing so would give them the chance to have their hands in or close to the pot.

Watch Over the Pot and the Dealer!

If the poker game is being run by a house dealer in an underground poker room, stealing chips right from the pot would be so easy for cheaters. They could easily interact with the pot and take too many chips out.

Thus, if you will be in a game you know will be run by a house dealer in an underground poker room, watch over the pot seriously. Also, do not forget to watch over the dealer. Keep your eyes on him or her most especially when he or she deals with pot. He or she might steal from the pot without your knowing.

In the event you are able to catch the dealer or even another player taking too much call for proper counting of chips immediately.

Indeed there is cheating when one intend to misrepresent his or her hand. Most likely, he or she intend to mislead others so he or she could take home the pot.

Yes there is obvious cheating behind misrepresentation of a hand but unfortunately it is not directly against the rules because many consider the fact that new players can most likely misrepresent some hands although they try no to. It’s acceptable for many new players to commit a mistake like hand misinterpretation without any intention to cheat, but how about those who are not new players and purposely keep on misrepresenting their hands on and on to take advantage of others, of course they must be stopped, their dirty game is something intolerable.

Typically, there are players who are not new players yet always intend to misrepresent their hands. They would normally call out a hand at showdown that they don’t really have. Oftentimes they have four cards to a straight or all black/red cards. Basically, their intention is to reveal a hand at the showdown and call it as if it was a great hand though it is not.

Cheating Finally Taking Place!

Cheating would finally be taking place at the table at some point when one player misrepresent his or her hand intentionally. Consider the scenario by which a player who would flip over an all black straight and then would say he or she has a straight flush. Others who have lower than a straight flush would then muck their cards thinking their hand is beat when in fact it is not. Later part they would discover the lie but will be all too late for them as they have already mucked their cards and can’t anymore be given back to them. And then even though they complain, their effort will be useless as misrepresentation of a hand is not directly considered as cheating or even a violation and also the cheater can use the excuse of being a new player though he or she is not.

Most of the problems that appear at the poker table have something to with acts that are out turn. Players tend to fold, bet, or check early. Some of the players act early by accident or honest mistake. But some intent to cheat.

Yes, some players who act out turn purposely act untimely to cheat. They are basically involved with a cheating technique called Angling. Cheaters who are believed using the said technique tend to act out of turn to manipulate other players and the game in general.

Two Ways Angling Takes Place

Angling takes place in two ways. Typically in:

a player’s act of folding out of turn by his or her appearance at the table as if he or she is going to fold his or her hand, or actually folding his or her hand, and then reclaiming it when the action gets to him or her.

a player’s act of betting out of turn by his or her appearance at the table that he or she is on his or her way to make a bet and then later denies his or her possible bet when the action reaches him or her.

Getting Rid of Cheaters Using Angling

Nowadays, Angling is something not directly against the rules considering new players tend to angle without any intention to cheat. Also, some players only seem to angle rarely. But there are some who angle on a consistent basis all for the purpose of cheating. For sure you won’t like the idea of playing against them for long and would like to just get rid of them at all means. Although Angling is typically not a serious offense or a house rule violation, you can still try to tell the dealer or floor manager about such players who take advantage to angle. You may benefit from it but of course there’s no assurance that you’d get rid of them at the table.

By far, Collusion is the most popular cheating technique in the world of online poker. It is the most popular mainly because it is easy to apply. With such technique, cheaters are able to successfully cheat without having sweat. Another reason maybe because it’s also one of the first cheating techniques developed, it was already known long time ago to many cheaters who are into poker.

Basically, Collusion takes place when two or more players agreed to play as one against other players at the table. These players who agreed to play as one will give each other some type of information that will give them an unfair advantage against other players at the table to later on win and eventually just later on divide the pot.

Different Ways Collusion is Accomplished

Cheaters who wishes to cheat using Collusion typically perform various acts so they can carry out their scheme. They actually:

get to distract other players so their partner in crime gets time to manipulate the deck of cards.

send each other signals to apply their betting plan.

send each other signals that could tell what their individual hand is.

give their partners the chance to see the cards they are holing by flashing their hands quickly.

use another language if by chance their nationality is different from their opponents.

Collusion as a Dangerous Cheating Technique

Collusion when applied properly by cheaters can be very dangerous. If you are one of the players being victimized by cheaters using Collusion, you’ll get into big trouble. Most especially if you are in between the cheaters and they apply Sandwiching, part of the technique Collusion. Cheaters will arrange their betting in such a way that you can either just call all of their bets or fold.

Catching the Cheaters Can Be Impossible

Catching the cheaters who are into collusion can be impossible. And can even more impossible to prove they are playing a dirty game. But if you are good, experienced observer you may be able to catch them in action. If by chance you are able to do so, contact the customer service support immediately for proper action.

There is this cheating trick or technique in poker known as Shifting the Cut. For many, it is effective however hard to apply in actual games.

Basically, Shifting the Cut is the kind of cheating trick or technique that require cheaters to be perfectly quick and wise. Of course, cheaters will have to shift the cut made by a certain player quickly. Though many eyes are watching over his or her hands, he or she must do the shifting smoothly and securely. Most likely, he or she doesn’t want to get caught in action as he do some dirty moves.

Actual Shifting of the Cut at the Table

Shifting the Cut can actually be accomplished in three different ways, depending on the cheater. First, the cheater can do the shifting the easy way. He or she can simply just take the original top half of the deck and place it back on top of the deck. In case other players are experienced, keen observers, he or she most likely can make distracting things to take their attention away from the deck. Second, the cheater can take the bottom pile and pass it over the top pile. Afterwards, he or she can then quickly pick up the other pile at the same time and drop it on top of the cards, thus allowing him or her to make the deck appear like exactly as it was when it wasn’t cut yet. Third, the cheater can pick the deck up and drop the bottom pile on top of the top pile, making it appear as if the cut was honestly carried out. But the bottom pile must not be dropped directly onto the top pile so there could be significant edge of where the original cards landed. Then he could just take the step and have it separated so he or she can finally replace the bottom pile with the top pile by appearing as if he or she is squaring the deck although in reality he or she is not.

Watchful Eyes Over Some Dirty Cheating Techniques!

Cheaters will always find their way to cheat so they can win. Even to the point of reversing or manipulating the cut made by another player, no doubts they will do it for the sake of winning. If you are a honest player who plays accordingly, you of course don’t have to tolerate this. You need to keep watchful eyes over some dirty cheating techniques like Shifting the Cut in particular. Do your thing and you’ll have honest games!

Many cheaters nowadays resort to applying in their games a cheating technique called Palming Cards. It is a technique that involves the hiding of cards that can either be high or low in value. Cheaters of course use this technique to cheat and eventually win at all means.

Normally, a cheater who ends up using Palming Cards will secretly hide cards to move them from their hands to the deck or vice versa. He or she is talented enough to do quick, cheating moves that are unnoticeable by others at the table.

As of the moment, cheaters using Palming Cards as their cheating technique can mostly be caught in games like poker and blackjack.

How a Cheater Does Palming Cards?

A cheater who wishes to hide certain cards to his own advantage will first start placing one card in the palm of his or her hand. Then right after, places another one and so on and so forth.

Typically, a cheater will use his or her fingers to keep the top end of the card in place, while the cup of the palm holds the other end of the card securely. If his or her hand is in typical size, he or she may be able to keep a regular sized playing card. However, still he or she can best keep a card if he or she has a larger sized hands.

Eventually, if he or she is successful in having a card hidden in his or her palm, he will then move the card to a location of his or her choice. He or she will most likely move the card to his or her pants pocket, beneath him or her, on the floor, up a sleeve, and the like. Then later part, he or she will put the hidden card into play by palming it at the time he or she feels like using it.

Be Careful When Palming Cards is Used!

You must be careful when Palming Cards is used against you. It can sometimes be so effective most especially if it is used together with the Dealing Extra Cards trick. A cheater who will combine Palming Cards with the Dealing Extra Cards trick may obtain cards to keep and cards to be thrown away. He or she can actually easily get the hand that would make him or her win.

Cheaters nowadays are fond of making Second Deal. Well, it may be a cheating technique or act hard to learn, master, and apply but it can be so effective that cheaters can make themselves the winner even if the game is just starting.

Second Deal is considered to be the continuation of Mechanic’s Grip and eventually Peeking at Cards. A player who wishes to cheat by doing a Second Deal would first hold the deck similar to the way he or she would do Mechanic’s Grip. If beforehand, by peeking, he or she realizes that the top card is the card that he or she needs, he or she then would deal the second top card instead of the top card to the other player. He or she would go on with his or her dirty acts until the deal comes around to him or her and deal the top card out to himself or herself. If you are not that experienced in terms of observing poker cheats, you may not be able to realize this one happening right before your very eyes. It’s best if you keep yourself aware of the various cheating techniques typically used by cheaters.

Actual Cheating Through Second Deal

It would be your advantage if you know how the actual Second Deal takes place. Well, this was quite explained above but of course you must know everything in detail, the position of certain fingers, use of every finger and other similar stuff.

First, the cheater would use the Mechanic’s Grip to effectively perform later the Second Deal. He or she will take his or her thumb and right after will carefully push the top card away from the rest of the deck, leaving less than a half of an inch exposed for the purpose of offsetting the card from others. This will then lead to the exposing of a certain part of the top card and next, the sliding of the second card outward by using his or her thumb. Then using his or her opposite hand, he will take the second top card from the deck instead of the first one. He or she will keep the first one until the deal comes to him or her and he or she finally does have the chance to deal the card out to himself or herself.

Catching a Cheater Doing a Second Deal

Can you now imagine how a cheater does a Second Deal in order to cheat? If yes, then good for you. You can now catch a cheater in his dirty game. At all times, just be a wise observant and you’ll be able to keep yourself away from any deceiving tactics of cheaters who are almost in every poker game.
