Our very recent articles are about online poker, so we’ll just keep ourselves in track. Now we have here the guidelines for online poker etiquette. We provided these so players most especially those starting players will know what behaviors are considered acceptable and not acceptable when playing poker online. Almost all players, if not all, will most likely try online poker at some point.

The Guidelines

Use of proper language. Some online players have failed to use proper language, instead they have used offensive one. Thus, future players should be aware of this. And they must use the proper language by all means. They must remember that online poker is an adult activity where only adult or say mature players are appreciated.

Be nice. It won’t a help a player if he or she is rude. Well, being rude can mean that he or she is having too much trash talk, or rubbing his or her opponent’s face in it when he or she have him or her beat. By being rude, he or she will just leave bad impression. Other players may avoid playing with him or her ever again. Thus, it’s best for him or her to be nice at all times.

Keep up with the pace of the game. Any player should try to keep up with the pace of the game he or she playing. To go slow will never help him or her. At best, he or she must make advance actions whenever it is sensible.

Play accordingly. A player must play just right. If during a hand, he or she must play accordingly. He or she must play the hand in accordance to the rule. And if just watching the action, he or she should not comment or say any piece of advice at all about the hand being played. It is clear that there should only be one player to a hand, and this must be clear to him or her nonetheless.

We have mentioned in one of our newly published articles here that players who are into online poker can actually chat if they wish to. All poker clients nowadays allow players to chat as long as there will be decency when it comes to words being used. Players have to follow some etiquette guidelines when chatting to ensure no chaos will ever occur at the table.

Nowadays, most players chat because of two things, they are bored and/or just want to meet new friends. Well, both things are sensible. However, there is something far better. It’s better if players chat because they want to leave a strong image and so other players might go on tilt or play worse.

Certainly, any player can use chat to his or her own favor. Aside from making a strong image so others will have a bad game, while chatting, player can also take time to notice players who are not in balance and are upset because of some bad streaks or cards. There are players who cannot control their emotions and very noticeable. Most of the time, they will take their emotions out on the chat. If feeling bad, they will take everything out through words they type on the chat box. Thus, you can use chat to know who are the players that are losing and winning.

But Be Careful!

Yes, you can certainly use chat to your advantage. But be careful as others may also use chat to their advantage so they can beat you. As you chat, be careful of your statements as you might get a weak table image so possibly you’ll get a lot of check-raises and calls from other others.

Similarly, never complain often as other players might just think that you are out of balance and so will start pulling moves on you. You might just risk tilting your own game.

Most beginners nowadays look for free online poker games because they want to develop the skills they possibly have and eventually be a winning poker player. Well, yes, playing at some sites’ free online poker games is a good thing. It may actually help in some ways. Beginners can play and practice for free, of course without risking even a single penny. However, beginners fail sometimes to realize that they often do not actually play and practice at their best or to their full ability when they are at some free online poker games. What will you expect in beginners who are playing for no prize, who have nothing to lose and nothing to gain? But of course, we should not generalize all beginners. There are still some who play and practice to the best of their ability to get experience. The thing we just want to imply here is that beginners must be motivated, must feel inspired when playing. Of course, poker is not just about getting money but about getting experience to eventually beat the game. But let’s face it, at times, experience that may possibly be gained is not enough motivation. There still should some money involved.

At present, aside from free online poker games, beginners should actually try freeroll poker tournaments. Unlike free online poker games, these tournaments have prizes or rewards. The prizes are actually enough for players to be motivated. Hence, let’s just accept the fact that it is much easier for beginners to fine tune their poker skills when confronted with true opposition.

Some Tips

When playing at some sites’ freeroll poker tournaments, beginners just need to be reminded of some things. Most likely, they must be:

aware that they should be patient at all times. In freeroll poker tournaments, there are lots of hands involved, good hands and bad hands that’s why being patient at all times is a must. Good hands often do not come early.

conscious about being determined. In freeroll poker tournaments, it’s easy for beginners to give up because of loosing streaks and bad beats. Thus, no matter what, they must be determined all the way.

after of their position. In freeroll poker tournaments, some players mostly experienced ones tend to abuse their position. Thus, it’s vital for beginners to look after and defend their position at all possible means.

So now you want to try your luck in poker by first playing online rather than playing live. Well, if this your decision you should now start finding some possible online poker rooms where you can play and where you think you will be treated right although you’re just a beginner.

Nowadays, there are lots of poker rooms you can find when you try to search the web. Getting one poker room for yourself won’t be so much of a problem, unless your are from the United States. Lots of poker rooms right now do not accept players from the United States at all. Basically, the main reason for this is the issue about internet gambling being illegal in the said country.

On the good side, if you are not from the United States, getting one poker room for yourself won’t be a big problem; just like as what actually mentioned. Most probably, your problem will only be in choosing which one among the many poker rooms available online will you give your trust. Right now you can choose which one among Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, Party Poker, and Doyle’s Room. These poker rooms are known for being safe and secure most especially friendly rooms for beginners. But you just have to be careful as these rooms most likely have tempting offers which you might grab. As a beginner, you must always remember that it is advisable for you to first try to play for free, without any money at risk. Playing straight with money at stake will not give any positive result at all.

Tempting Offers

Signing up with bonus. Most often it’s 20% bonus, the maximum. For beginners, this may seem really tempting. But they should not give in, most especially if they’re not totally prepared for the consequences, they will just be wasting time and money of course. They should know that they can get the bonus by earning player points frequently or playing some equally complex way designed to make sure they keep on playing for money.

Tournament for free WSOP seat. Oftentimes poker rooms offer a small tournament say for $20 with a chance to win a seat at WSOP for free, by which most players often grab and beginners are included. This is really a great, tempting offer yet quite not healthy for beginners. More or less, the said $20 tournament will have 10,000 other people in it so this means a certain beginner will have 9,999 other players to beat. Considering he or she is just starting, he or she will more or less not make it and will be just wasting $20.

Player points for caps, t-shirts, jackets, etc. This may look so tempting to beginners. But to some experienced online players, giving in to this kind of offer is just like giving out money for no sensible reason.

Although the online poker arena often appears like a training ground, beginners should not take it for granted and should actually face it with seriousness and preparedness.

Nowadays, most beginners just play poker online without proper knowledge on basic tips and strategies that could make them win. Their reason is that they just choose to play online because they just want to gain experience and discover and shape up some of their possible skills. They fail to realize that online poker is not just plainly a training ground, but a training ground that can be really rewarding. If they can only beat the challenges of online poker, they can gain as much as what they can gain in live games at casinos, or even more. They just have to arm themselves with effective tips or strategies, perfect for winning.

Some Effective Tips

If you are a beginner who is into online poker and are now interested in knowing some effective tips, then what we have provided below are just prefect. We have below some effective tips for beginners of online poker. You are free to read them and later even make use of them in your first online poker games.

Mastering the language of poker and all online poker chat abbreviations. Doing so will of course let you play poker online so smoothly.

Playing calmly. An online poker game is typically packed with lots of action. Thus, it’s important that the player playing online stays calm all throughout the duration of a certain game. Not doing so may actually endanger him or her. Before finally playing online, it’s helpful for a player to warn himself or herself not to be nervous instead just play calmly.

Wise in observing what others do. In online poker, body languages or facial expressions of players can’t be seen. For beginners and even for the not so experienced, this is really a problem. However, there are still some ways they can try to observe behavior. They can actually focus on the playing pattern of others or on the hands they seem to play and seem not to play.

Folding lousy hands. Even online, it’s vital not to play every hand. Some hands are not worth playing and better to just be thrown away.

Beginners of poker now can choose whether they will play online or otherwise play live. If they choose to play online, well they of course would play at poker sites. If they choose to play live, then they most likely would end up at casinos.

As of the moment, most beginners choose to play online because of efficiency-related reasons. When a beginner wishes to play online, he or she just needs a computer and that’s it, he or she can play immediately, oftentimes even for free. He or she can practice efficiently. Unlike when playing live at casinos, he or she still needs to go out from the comfort of his or her home, travel, and spend expensive fare just to be able to play.

On the flip side, most beginners fail to realize the downside of playing online. Though playing online means efficiency, it also means insufficiency and pressure. Insufficiency when it comes to experience a beginner may gain and pressure with regards to beating the challenges of online poker.

There is insufficiency when it comes to the experience a beginner may gain because of course there is less contact with other players. A beginner may not get the chance to see others’ reactions which is also an important thing. He or she may not also get the chance to know how a real poker table with real actions look like. Yes, the poker table provided online appear like what a real poker table would look like, but actions that come along with it are not for real. This thing would really matter to a beginner, considering that he or she is just starting out.

With regards to the pressure of online poker, well, it seems like the pressure of live poker too. It’s just that the pressure of online poker is a bit more serious. Considering that the players only play over the net, a beginner may find it hard to classify who are the experienced and who are the not so experienced. Most likely, he or she will find it hard to apply strategies if he or she don’t have any idea on what kind of opponents does he or she is up to. Eventually, as a player who’s just starting, he or she will find it hard to win. However, of course, this doesn’t mean he or she won’t win at all. And also, we don’t try to imply here that online poker is not advisable for beginners. All we want is for beginners to be aware of the possible troubles they might face if they try to play online. After all, it is with being aware or with knowing that one becomes prepared for every battle.

If you are a regular visitor of our site and have read almost all of the helpful articles we have, most likely your are already aware that there are many cheating techniques now being used by cheaters. There are cheating techniques for live poker and there are also some specially intended for online poker. Cheating techniques for online poker are now the talk of the town as most poker players nowadays go online. Well, these techniques include collusion, angling, and misrepresentation of a hand.

Collusion is a scheme by which two or more players agreed to play as one against other players at the table. Basically, there is sharing of information so an unfair advantage could be achieved.

Angling is the acting out of turn by which there is folding, betting, or checking early so the game and so as the results be manipulated. This a technique not directly punishable as there is no direct cheating considered in acting out early.

Finally, misrepresentation of a hand is the act of purposely calling a wrong hand at showdown to manipulate the game. Typically, it is accomplished when cards are of four straight or all black or red cards.

Need for Safe Online Poker Games

Cheating can take place even in online poker games, therefore by all means, you must only play in safe poker sites. Nowadays, safe poker sites would include Full Tilt Poker, Poker Nordica, BetFair, Intertops.com, and Poker Stars. These poker sites are considered safe because of some security softwares that are totally dependable.

However, although the poker sites aforementioned are considered safe, you still have to do your part. You must be very careful in your dealings and cautious of your actions. Doing so will more or less likely eliminate all cheating possibilities and not doing so of course will mean the opposite thing. Remember that no matter how safe a site is because of its security software if you are careless and incautious, it’s useless.
